Chrome raised many concerns for privacy related issues and license terms. However, the more browsers are out there, the better for us users.

¡Hola Antonio! :)

I did mention Gears as one of the technologies used. I don't find its inclusion exceptional: Gears is also available for other browsers; there's nothing unique in its presence in Chrome and --- to date --- it's too early and far too limited to compare it to Sun's efforts with Java.

It's clear to me that Google will position the App Engine prominently within its ecosystem. Time will tell whether this experiment will succeed.

Until then, however, I can only see Chrome, the product, as yet another browser rehashing existing ideas and marginally improving on existing technologies. The intent, on the other hand, may well be very different to that behind the designs of Safari or IE (Mozilla has demonstrated its intention to make Firefox a platform through a number of projects including Weave, Prism etc.)

It seems to me that Chrome must be reviewed under a deeper perspective not only from the browser market. What is going to be in the next future? Is this an advance of a Google OS to foster App Engine? You did not comment anything about Gears' integration but it can be one of the most remarkable features. Sun did not succeed trying this but Google may have learned that lesson. We'll see.

I must say that I am impressed by the way they followed to announce Chrome. The comic is absolutely fantastic!
