Last spring I visited Ancient Olympia. Back then I posted some images of the place. What I didn’t post, and that I’m adding now, is a QuickTime VR panorama of the place. This is my first publicly released QuickTime VR image, so hold the technical criticism this time please. Despite the, arguably, barren landscape, devoid of anything of interest in the shot besides, perhaps, that large pillar, it does have something between Myst‘s eerie landscapes and LucasArts’ Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis feel, the part where Indy pays a visit to the Minoan site. (Ok, I’ve got to remove ScummVM from my linux box someday soon..).
QuickTime 4(ish) or higher required to watch the VR. Made with Apple’s freely available MakeCubic tool.
