The Books – The Way Out (2010)

The Books are back! After four --- long --- years The Books return with The Way Out. An album upon which they've worked for a year and a half, it is a gradual evolution of their fantastic work of the early to mid 2000s. Familiar, yet daring in parts, The Way Out felt like 'more of the same' at times, with some notable exceptions (e.g. 'I Didn't Know That'). The 'experiment' that was Books keeps going; The Way Out may be interesting, true to The Books heritage, and evolved, but somehow the end-result is not as immediately attractive as their previous works.

Myspace sans Indie music? Dead.

Heh, if that article is even slightly accurate, I'd be very surprised if Myspace didn't try to do everything in its power to satisfy indie labels and bands. Without them it stands no chance of surviving. None at all, even if it had all four major music megacorps behind it. The competition is so much better and Myspace is mediocre if not poor an implementation.

Cube "Oblique" Live

Τη περασμένη Πέμπτη πραγματοποιήθηκε στο 'Κύτταρο' μια συναυλία των The Earthbound την οποία άνοιξαν οι Cube [on MySpace], σε μια 'ατσαλάκωτη' παραλλαγή του σχήματος, με ακουστικές εκτελέσεις αρκετών κομματιών τους καθώς και κάποιες διασκευές. Κινηματογράφησα τη συναυλία των Cube και ανέβασα ένα μικρό απόσπασμα αυτής και συγκεκριμένα το κομμάτι Oblique το οποίο αποτελεί και τη συμμετοχή τους στην συλλογή 'In the Junkyard 3' της μη-κερδοσκοπικής Spinalonga Records1
